Epilogue to "Strange Little Song" features a cinematic string orchestra which actually comprises of a live string quartet augmented with virtual instruments. The song itself was inspired by the quote ...and I am out with lanterns, looking for myself, by Emily Dickinson.
"Counterpoint" is a bittersweet song about meeting the right person at the wrong time. It features two incredibly talented ladies, Mikayla Shirley as the lead vocalist and Hyejin Kim on the piano.
"Longing" is a short lyrical work for the orchestra. The repeating 5-note motif is based on the sentence I miss you, my dear, inspired by the distress of loving someone unreachable both in distance and in their heart. Recorded in the stunning Futura Productions studio in Roslindale, MA by the legendary John Weston, this piece features a chamber orchestra with minimal post-production.
This track was created as an exercise for an imaginary TV show presenting a contemporary Asian fusion restaurant in New York City. It aims to blend traditional Japanese sensibility in the melodic foreground with a backdrop of modern electronic production.
This track was created to practice scoring commercials. Inspired by the visuals, the electronic score aims to accentuate the vastness and beauty of the colorful universe and at the same time fit all of it into the new iPad Pro. Backed by a catchy groove, the different synthesized sounds seem to be floating and moving around in space. Some of the sound effects line up with the visual events to best tie together music and images. The audience is brought to Earth by introducing a subtle nightscape to the last section of the advertisement.

About
Triin Metshein is a creative soul currently based in Boston but originally from a magical little land called Estonia. She loves to wear many different hats on her musical explorations – composer, arranger, producer, vocalist, teacher – and will gladly try on new ones when opportunity and curiosity arise. Her music is a mixture of a variety of influences from the juicy harmonies of jazz to the other-worldly soundscapes of psychedelia.
Triin’s warm alto voice as well as her passion for complex harmonies and team player mentality make her an asset in vocal group settings. She has had the joy of singing with many award-winning vocal ensembles (Point of Departure, BerKalit, Berklee Advanced Vocal Jazz Ensemble) and performing at events like the Jazz Education Network Conference (January 2023, Orlando, FL) or a shared concert with the legendary New York Voices (May 2023, Boston, MA). Triin is the former keyboard player and backing vocalist of the Estonian fusion jazz band The Nonconceptual Art Club. She also enjoys guiding others on their musical journeys and has worked as a private teacher for piano and music theory since 2018.

A recent alumna of Berklee College of Music, Triin is now working as a freelance musician, writing and producing music for Droid Mafia, performing all around the US with BerKalit with upcoming shows in Chicago, New Jersey, and Boston, as well as teaching private students of all ages and backgrounds.
